Three Trans-Led Research Projects at the TransLab
The TransLab website is live and hosting art, film, and community knowledge from three core projects. This digital platform will allow us to continue showcasing trans-led research, creativity, and knowledge-making practice. Check it out:

For those of you viewing this space for the first time, the TransLab is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to Two-Spirit, trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse (2TNG) lives, politics, and scholarship.
Featured projects include:
A qualitative, community-based study tracing how 2TNG people across Alberta navigated the pandemic and how digital worlds became spaces of survival, connection, and resistance. You can download our 61-page full-colour zine, created by the research team with participant art and quotes.
2. Trans Futures Digital Stories
Eight short multimedia films created by 2TNG participants imagining a future for trans life in the face of crisis β from the pandemic, to, climate change, to colonial violence. These films are powerful and unique interventions. All are available to watch on the site.
3. Legendary Transgender Icons
A visual collection of trans activists, scholars, artists, organizers, athletes, and tradition keepers who shape our intellectual and political worlds. Itβs a celebration of lineage, brilliance, and enduring trans leadership.
The website also showcases our mission, values, and upcoming news. Please do take a look around, explore the projects, and share the site with anyone who might be excited about this work. More updates soon and more projects already in the works during my fellowship at McGill.
