Announcing My Muriel Gold Visiting Professorship at McGill’s IGSF

I’m delighted to share that I will be serving as the Muriel Gold Visiting Professor (2025–2026) at McGill University’s Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies (IGSF).

The IGSF’s Visiting Professorship supports scholars who want focused time for research in feminist, queer, trans, and sexuality studies. It offers workspace, intellectual community, and the chance to participate in seminars and events across McGill and neighbouring universities, all in the heart of Montréal. It’s an honour to join a program shaped by such vibrant interdisciplinary commitments.

During my term, I’ll be continuing my research on transphobic countertransference, building on conversations emerging from my work in psychoanalysis and transgender studies. I’ll also be connecting with graduate students who are exploring psychoanalytic approaches to gender and sexuality, and I’m hoping to offer a master class or small workshop series on clinical transphobia, unconscious processes, and transpsychoanalytics.

I’ll be on site beginning January 2026, and will share details about public talks and events as they’re finalized. I’m grateful to the IGSF for the invitation, and excited for the year ahead. Such a wonderful opportunity for collaborations and to develop this work in community.
