I’m hiring a Research Assistant for an exciting two-year research project, titled “Bad Feelings: Co-Investigating Clinicians’ Transphobic Countertransference through Research-Creation”!
This project brings together transgender studies, psychoanalytic theory, and arts-based research (primarily film) to explore the unconscious processes and difficult feelings that can shape mental health clinicians’ encounters with trans people and gender difference. The RA will help with many aspects of the project including literature reviews, project design, ethics application, administration, and knowledge mobilization. We’ll be developing digital storytelling workshops and supporting the production of a series of short experimental films exploring the psychic life of transphobia. Someone with interest/skills in social media, digital archiving and web development would be an asset.
I’m looking for a graduate student or recent graduate with a strong interest in transgender studies, psychoanalysis, and arts-based research.
